He went his own way, doing things as he liked, and not how the others did them. He never really was one to stick to convention, even as a teen, in high school. When he didn't like something, or even someone, he didn't try and hide it, just so he could be like the other kids. No, Fox Mulder always had a clear sense of who he was, and where he stood, and he didn't hesitate to show it. This vital trait he would carry with him throughout his career. But because of this, as well as because of his obvious intellect, Fox was never one of the more popular kids. He had few friend, and, even so, didn't spend a lot of time with them. From his father, Fox had inherited a keen intellect. He was a bright student, and he worked hard in school. He was the valedictorian for his graduating class, in high school. Fox went on to England, to study at Oxford. There, he earned a degree in psychology. After that, he was recruited by the FBI, for his apparent gift in profiling serial killers. Mulder's career was on the go. He was extremely intelligent, and did his job with natural ease. He was one of the best agents that the FBI had ever seen or had. Mulder was on his way to the top. And then, one day, he stumbled on an entire division of files that would change his life. The files dealt with the unexplained, and paranormal phenomenon, and, because of that, they had been recklessly abandoned, and thrown into the basement of the FBI's J. Edgar Hoover Building, where they were forgotten by the rest. Mulder, however, had a particular interest in these cases. Because of his gift, he had a certain amount of freedom. He went on to read every single one of these, the X-Files. Mulder took the X-Files and made them his. He got permission from his superiors, and was made the head of the X-Files division. Mulder was driven to investigate these paranormal and supernatural cases. He was driven by his need to find his sister, whom he thought was abducted by extraterrestrials. After a period of time, other agents knew all about Mulder, and his obsession with aliens and ghosts and UFO's. They came to refer to him as "Spooky Mulder," and had taken to making fun of him, and his 'little green men'. Mulder knew about this, but he didn't care. Even as the others mocked him, his devotion remained unwavering. He knew that he had been outcast by his peers, but he chose to stick with the X-Files anyways. Like when he was a kid. The other agents feared what they thought different, and what they could not understand. They weren't like Mulder. That was one of the ways that he was stronger than they ever were. Three years into the future, Fox Mulder would get recognized for outstanding achievements in his career as a federal agent. This event would leave those who scorned and mocked him to realize how wrong they had been. Tom Colton, the new head of VCS-- the Violent Crimes Section--, would see the extreme error of his and his peers' ways. Colton, along with the other agents working in VCS, would proceed to offer Mulder a position in the VCS. Fox Mulder would turn them down, instead choosing to remain with the X-Files Division. When he did so, he would do it with honour and dignity. But he would leave not a doubt in anyone's mind that they had lost the best agent that they would never have a chance to work with. \x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\ \x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\x\ -- \\\ /// X-Phile "Requiem" | Dana & Fox: \X/ SYX EP dorothy.liang@sympatico.ca | platonic love, /X\ GANTA cj007@freenet.carleton.ca | but love /// \\\ UsualSuspect girl in black | nonetheless
